Something big is coming…
We’re incredibly excited to announce the launch of BAR Events Leeds, a brand-new outdoor events space at the iconic Temple Arches and we’re kicking things off in suitably spectacular style with Oktoberfest, running throughout October.
If you know your Leeds events, you’ll know the location.
Temple Arches was previously home to Chow Down, the much-loved outdoor food, drink and entertainment destination that became a firm favourite with Leeds locals and visitors alike. From street food and cocktails to DJs, live entertainment, drag brunches and summer sessions, the site established itself as one of the city’s most distinctive outdoor event spaces. The Chow Down gang moved on to pastures new back in 2023.
Now, we’re planning to bring the party back to this city centre location.
And we’ve got big plans...
BAR Events Leeds is the latest addition to the Bar Events UK family - giving us a permanent outdoor city-centre space in one of Leeds’ most exciting and rapidly evolving areas.
For us, this isn't about simply opening a venue. It’s about creating a space where we can do what we do best: bring people together, put on brilliant events and create experiences that people genuinely want to come back for.
Think big celebrations. Big crowds. Big atmosphere. Live entertainment. Incredible food and drink. And a programme of events that gives Leeds something to get excited about throughout the year.
Temple Arches gives us the canvas to do this!
First up: Oktoberfest
And what better way to launch BAR Events Leeds than with a month-long celebration of all things Bavarian?
Oktoberfest Leeds City Centre is coming to Temple Arches throughout October.
Expect steins, Bavarian beer, bratwurst, live entertainment, big tunes, plenty of dancing and the kind of atmosphere that makes you forget you’re only a few minutes from Leeds train station.
We’re taking everything people love about Oktoberfest and giving it a proper Leeds twist.
Whether you’re planning a big night out with friends, looking for something different for a birthday, organising a work social or simply fancy an excuse to get involved, Oktoberfest, Leeds City Centre is the perfect reason to raise a stein and say Prost!
And if you’ve been waiting for Temple Arches to come alive again, trust us - you’re going to want to be there for this one.
BAR Events Leeds is about resurrecting that spirit - but doing it our way.
We’re taking everything we’ve learned from years of creating events across the UK and bringing it to a venue that has already proved just how special it can be.
The ambition is simple: make Temple Arches one of the go-to destinations for events in Leeds once again.
… and what does this mean for Bar Events UK?
Our existing events, venues, partnerships and plans continue exactly as they were.
BAR Events Leeds is another string to our bow, not a replacement for anything.
It gives us another space and another opportunity to create the kind of events we’re passionate about.
Oktoberfest is just the beginning.
There’s plenty more in the pipeline for BAR Events Leeds and we can’t wait to start revealing what we’ve got planned.
